“嗯!嗯!”国王答复,“那么我……号令你偶然候能够打哈欠,偶然候……”
"If Your Majesty wishes to be promptly obeyed," he said, "he should be able to give me a reasonable order. He should be able, for example, to order me to be gone by the end of one minute. It seems to me that conditions are favorable..."As the king made no answer, the little prince hesitated a moment. Then, with a sigh, he took his leave.
“嗯……司法大臣!”
国王说:“假定我号令一个将军像胡蝶那样在花丛中飞来飞去,或者号令他写作一部悲剧,或者变成一只海鸟,而这位将军接到号令不履行的话,那么,是谁的弊端呢?”
“那当然!”国王对他说,“它们当即就得从命规律。我不答应抵挡。”
“那好吧,我号令你打哈欠。”国王说,“好些年来我没有瞥见过别人打哈欠。对我来讲,打哈欠倒是别致的事。来吧,再打几个哈欠!这是号令。”
“啊!来了一个子民。”国王瞥见小王子时,欣喜地喊了起来。
"I order you to do so," the king answered him, and majestically gathered in a fold of his ermine mantle.
"And the stars obey you"
The little prince looked everywhere to find a place to sit down; but the entire planet was crammed and obstructed by the king's magnificent ermine robe. So he remained standing upright, and, since he was tired, he yawned.
